Seed boot diffusers and SeedVU® both diffuse excess air, but this is where the similarities stop...
The SeedVU® system mounts on the seeders manifold, out of harms way. Other seed brakes mounted on each opener are notorious for breaking and coming off in the field due to the harsh vibrations created by the seeders openers.
The SeedVU® system, conveniatley allows the user to vent off an adjustable amount of air at the seeders manifold, this allows plenty of air flow to the manifold (which is required to avoid blocks) but then can be reduced to allow a much gentler delivery of seed to the furrow.
Rather than having to cut hoses, and mount individual seed brakes (diffusers) on each opener, the SeedVU® units simply replace your manifolds existing cap, meaning you can fit or take off the SeedVU® system in minutes! Another great feature of the SeedVU® is its indicator cap that is held open by the diffused air. If for some reason a primary block is occurring, the cap will gradually creep down as the block worsens, alerting the user and avoiding costly down time.
For row croppers who use their seeder to plant on 20"+ row spacings, the SeedVU® allows you to plug out every other row inside the manifold that you wish not to seed and the SeedVU® units will deal with the extra pressure this creates. The wider the row spacing the higher the air pressure (under equivilant fan speeds). Often primary line blocks occur on wider rows as there is simply not enough outlets for air to escape, this causes the phenomenum known as "back-pressure", where excess pressure backs up and eventually causes fan cavitation, product then drops out of its air suspension and blocks occur. The SeedVU® system is most effective at eradicating this problem.
